‘PAY WITH SIBUYAS’: QC discount store to accept onions as payment for items

A discount store in Quezon City will accept onions as payment for “selected” items that will be purchased by its customers on Saturday, Feb. 4.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Feb. 1, the Japan Home Centre (JHC) announced that customers can pay with onions their chosen products in its branch on Panay Avenue in Quezon City. The promo is valid only on Saturday.

It said that one onion is equal to one JHC item.

Each customer, however, is only allowed to buy three items using onions as payment.

The onions that will be collected on Saturday will be used in its community pantry, the JHC added.

The JHC caters to a wide range of customer age groups, selling various branded and unique items. It aims to provide buyers the best quality and first-class shopping experience, according to its website (japanhome.com.ph).

Last month, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. approved the importation of over 21,000 metric tons of onions to address the increasing prices of the vegetable in the market.
