LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Marijuana totaling P27.2 million were destroyed and 45 wanted persons were arrested during the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) conducted by the Benguet Provincial Police Office from Jan. 15 to 31.
Col. Damian Olsim, Benguet police director, said 23 marijuana eradication operations were conducted in the municipalities of Bakun, Kapangan, and Kibungan which resulted in the discovery and destruction of 139,458 fully grown marijuana plants and 360 marijuana seedlings with a total standard drug price of P27,264,986.
Four street-level individuals were arrested in a buy-bust operation and police response where 220 milligrams of suspected shabu were seized.
Olsim said 45 persons were arrested, 11 of whom were Top Most Wanted Persons and 34 Other Wanted Persons.
Arrested persons under the Top Most Wanted include the No. 2, No. 4, and No. 9 on the regional level.
Olsim said nine firearms were surrendered.
The SACLEO was in line with the peace and security framework of PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. dubbed Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan, and Kaunlaran.
