2 arrested, P490,000 shabu seized in Taguig

Two men were arrested and nearly P490,000 of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was seized by the police in a buy-bust operation in Taguig on Feb. 2.

Elements from the Southern Police District’s Drug Enforcement Unit together with Taguig police and other operatives conducted a buy-bust operation at about 11:15 p.m. on 9th Street in Zone 1, Barangay North Signal Village, Taguig.

Arrested in the operation were Samson Balan, 30, and Ma. Elaine Alcala, 33.

The police also seized six plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 72 grams worth P489,600, one cellular phone and genuine P1,000 bill on top of P9,000 boodle money used in the buy-bust transaction.

The two suspects were brought to the SPD and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
