NHA delegates inspect Disiplina Village Bignay in Valenzuela

Delegates of the National Housing Authority (NHA) visited the Disiplina Village (DV) Bignay in Valenzuela City on Tuesday, Feb. 28, to inspect the village facilities and map out future housing projects in the city.

Disiplina Village is a resettlement project under the local government. The city had already constructed three DVs in the city located in Barangays Bignay, Ugong, and Lingunan.

The fourth DV in Barangay Arkong Bato is still under construction.

Joeben Tai, general manager of the National Housing Authority (NHA), led the tour and inspection in DV Bignay to check its facilities, beneficiaries, and other housing projects that are still under construction.

He was accompanied by Valenzuela's Housing and Resettlement Office's (HRO) administrators Ellen Reyes and Engr. Mark Dizor in examining each occupied and vacant unit inside the buildings.

Tai also talked with the housing beneficiaries and community garden keepers.

Meanwhile, Valenzuela City Mayor Weslie "WES" Gatchalian prepared lunch to welcome Tai and other NHA delegates. It was followed by a meeting to discuss the ongoing construction of DV Arkong Bato.

Tai also visited the DV Arkong Bato to cap off his tour in Valenzuela.

The said meeting was also attended by Former Councilor Rovin Feliciano and Bignay Barangay Chairman Graciano Victoriano.

The city government said DV Bignay is the country’s biggest relocation site for informal settler families (ISFs) living in danger-zone areas.

The resettlement site has complete facilities, including elementary, high school, and daycare centers, a multipurpose building, a livelihood center, a "Sentro ng Sama-samang Serbisyo- 3S Center" or a small city hall, a park, a supermarket, a transportation terminal, and covered courts.

It added that DV Bignay was an awardee in Galing Pook 2017.
