The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said it has finished the 784-lineal meter out of the 10.57 kilometer access road going to Binadlan Falls, a known tourism destination in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan explained that Binadlan Falls, known as “Bambi Falls”, is one of the most beautiful destinations in Binalbagan town. He noted that the continuation of a concrete road is essential to draw more tourists to the area, which opens more development opportunities for the local tourism and economy. “Besides improving access to tourist attractions in the southern portion of the province, the concrete road will also serve as a major route to the upper barangays of Binalbagan and the neighboring town of Isabela and the city of Himamaylan,” Bonoan said. With better road access, DPWH Region 6 Director Nerie Bueno stated that the residents of the local communities in the barangay will no longer be burdened by the muddy roads during the rainy season and dusty thoroughfares under the scorching heat of the sun while being able to transport their products and offer their services more conveniently. The completed road section was undertaken by DPWH Negros Occidental Second District Engineering Office at the cost of P38.58 and was sourced from the 2022 General Appropriations Act (GAA). The road work is part of the multi-convergence project with the Department of Tourism (DOT).
