
The Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,709 new Covid-19 cases in the country on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
The number of active infections nationwide slightly decreased to 24,139 from 24,502 recorded on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
Still, Metro Manila logged the highest number of recorded cases in the past 14 days with 9,235; Calabarzon with 3,746; Central Luzon with 2,276; Davao region with 1,306; and Western Visayas with 1,087.
The running total of recoveries increased to 3,824,932, while the death count stood at 62,416.
Since 2020, the country has already recorded 3,911,487 confirmed cases of Covid-19.
Also, the hospital occupancy rate level is at a low-risk category with 27.5 percent of beds dedicated for Covid-19 patients are currently being used.
The DOH noted that 7,876 hospital beds are currently occupied and 20,770 remain vacant.
