Woman beaten to death with iron pipe in Quezon

TIAONG, Quezon â€“ A woman was beaten to death by a 33-year-old man with an iron pipe in Barangay Lagalag here on Saturday, Feb. 25.

Police identified the victim as Joana Palivino.

Investigation said a neighbor of the victim and the suspect, Michael Atienza, heard them arguing at 9 a.m.

Palivino grabbed a one-meter long galvanized iron pipe on the wall but the suspect managed to snatch the object and used it to hit the victim in the head and body several times, killing her on the spot.

Atienza fled and is now the subject of a manhunt. He faces appropriate charges.
