Metro Manila's Covid-19 positivity rate further drops to 12.3%

The positivity rate of Covid-19 in Metro Manila has dipped further to 12.3 percent on Oct. 22, the independent OCTA Research Group said in its latest monitoring.
In an update shared on Twitter on Monday, Oct. 24, OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David said the positivity rate in Metro Manila was at 14.9 percent on Oct. 15.
He also noted that most of Region IV-A also saw a drop in their positivity rates in the past week.
Positivity rates were down in Cavite (from 22.8 percent to 18.8 percent), Laguna (from 21 percent to 19.4 percent), Batangas (from 11.4 percent to 10.5 percent), and Rizal (from 22.1 percent to 21.1 percent).
Meanwhile, David said that the rates have increased to “high levels” in Cagayan (from 7.7 percent to 13.6 percent), Iloilo (from 13.6 percent to 15.2 percent), Isabela (from 12.1 percent to 20.7 percent), La Union (from 13.2 percent to 20.9 percent), Misamis Oriental (from 18.4 percent to 23.2 percent), Pangasinan (from 14.4 percent to 15.6 percent), and Tarlac (from 41.6 percent to 50.6 percent).
Positivity rate refers to the number of individuals who yielded positive results from among those who were tested for Covid-19.
The World Health Organization-recommended positivity rate is 5 percent or less to show that the spread of the virus is under control.
