Joel Lamangan reacts to MTRCB's proposal to regulate streaming platforms
Seasoned film director Joel Lamangan believes the Movie & Television Review & Classification Board (MTRCB) shouldn't push through with its plan to regulate online video streaming services.
This he reiterated in his recent Facebook post.

He believes such a move will not bode well for the entertainment industry.
Late last year when talks about MTRCB expanding its jurisdiction to include online streaming services as urged by legislators circulated.
Then, MTRCB Chairperson Diorella Maria “Lala” Sotto-Antonio said they will weigh the pros and cons of it.
Last month, the MTRCB and Vivamax, Inc. (VIVA Films), a media and entertainment company and provider of Video-on-Demand (VOD) streaming services, formalized their partnership to promote Responsableng Panonood (Responsible Viewership) to Filipino viewers through the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Agreement.
