MB Daily News Update: Robredo camp paves way for swift canvass of votes for president, VP
Showing remarkable graciousness in defeat, the camp of Vice President Leni Robredo will no longer raise any objection to all the certificates of canvass (COCs), and even withdrew its appearance in the proceedings of the Congress joint canvass of votes that will expedite the proclamation of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte as president and vice president, respectively.
Marcos lawyer Vic Rodriguez immediately extended his hand in appreciation of the gesture, which was relayed to the National Board of Canvassers by Robredo’s representative Romulo Makalintal.
And with just over five weeks in his administration, President Duterte has set into motion the transfer of power to the next administration with initial orders to prepare for the next president’s inauguration on June 30, 2022.
