LOOK: Japan will accept tourists by June 10

At a dinner party of Future Asia that's partly organized by Nikkei in Tokyo, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida shared the good new, "We will resume accepting tourists on escorted package tours on June 10."

It was more than two years ago when Japan closed its borders. This move was "necessary for us to ensure that our medical system was on sound footing and provided time to administer vaccinations," says Kishida. "However, from now on, we will further relax our border measures."

By June 1, the government will double the international arrivals to 20,000 for countries. Countries with low positive rates, Covid-19 tests and quarantine will not be required.
