Lagman has glowing words for De Lima

Liberal Party (LP) President and Albay 1st district Rep. Edcel Lagman didn't hold back on his words of praise Friday, Feb. 24 for former senator Leila de Lima, who marked her sixth year behind bars.

But Lagman sees De Lima's continued incarceration as a "supreme sacrifice", and hailed her because of it.

"On the year of Sen. Leila de Lima’s odious incarceration, I salute her supreme sacrifice, indomitable courage, and steadfast advocacy for the victims of injustice and oppression, and also for Filipinos whose freedoms are trampled on by the brokers of power," he said of his party-mate

De Lima, a former Department of Justice (DOJ) secretary, is in jail for her alleged links to the illegal drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP). Her term in the Senate lasted from 2016 to 2022.
