CEU Scorpions basketball team wins big in 2022 UCBL invitational tournament

Centro Escolar University Basketball Team won 3rd Place Overall in the 2022 PG Flex Linoleum Universities and Colleges Basketball League (UCBL) Invitational Tournament after defeating the Adamson Soaring Falcons.

Aside from winning one of the highest ranks and taking home some cash prize, Jhomel Ancheta made it to the Mythical Five.

The invitational tournament featured the UCBL’s home teams which included CEU, competing against teams from the Universities Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for a total of 12 varsities. They were divided into two groups of six each to play a single round robin or five games per school.

The CEU Scorpions was included in Group B and was able to advance to the eight-team knockout playoffs.

The first UCBL Debut Championship title was claimed by CEU in 2016.
