It starts at P299!
Being the youngest in her family, Andrea Brillantes grew up watching her older sisters apply makeup. So it was inevitable that the child star would start having fun with makeup at the tender age of five. By 10 years old, she was already confident enough to be her own makeup artist.
At the exclusive and intimate launch of Lucky Beauty, Andrea revealed that meeting so many business owners over the years, through her endorsements, inspired her to become like them one day. “Someday, Blythe. Someday, magkakaroon din ako ng sarili kong makeup brand,” says Andrea. And this year, her dream came true—she is the Chief Executive Officer of her very own cosmetics brand at 19 years old.
The first collection comprises six products, all of which are part of the celebrity’s makeup routine. She also stepped on stage with no makeup on, and did a quick demo on how she uses all of these products.
1.Having a very busy schedule, Andrea wanted a buildable concealer that brightens and hydrates. It also has the properties of an eye cream that refreshes the skin. The Serum Concealer, P349, also has a cooling effect aimed to depuff. Comes in nine shades to choose from.
2. Next, she brought out this multi-tasking color cream and placed one dot each on the highest points of her cheeks. She then blended it with a brush and applied a little on the bridge of her nose as well. “For that drunk blush look,” she adds. This Blush & Lip Cream, P349, can be applied on the lips and cheek, as the name implies. The dome-shape applicator makes it easier to apply, even on your eyelids.
3. Andrea also shared that she uses very little powder, but uses it to set and blot. This is why the Skin Blur Powder Foundation, P549, is more than just a foundation. It’s also a setting and blotting powder that delivers medium-to-full coverage with skin that’s soft and velvety. The shades are matched with the concealers, she adds.
4. To add radiance, Andrea picked this gel-to-powder formula with high reflecting pearl particles to deliver that glow. She applied it on the top of her cheekbones, on the bridge and tip of her nose, below her eyebrows, on the center of her forehead, and on the upper area of her lip. This Pressed Highlighter, P499, has four shades to fit every skin tone. Another trivia is that she named the colors after crystals, and wittingly thought of Bronzite for the bronze shade.
5. Being a celebrity, she knew that there would be days that she needed full coverage for her lips. But there would also be days when she just wants to wear a light tint. The Dewy Lip Stain, P299, is an ingenious product that can give both looks. The applicator comes in two different sides—a fluffy brush for a more pigmented application, and silicone one for a sheer finish.
6. And, of course, Andrea is known for her thick brows which is why she made sure to release a brow product she truly believes in. The Brow Grip, P299, comes with a comb applicator to make sure it reaches and grooms every strand of your brows. This clear gel laminates and conditions, too! “Pwede rin kayo lumangoy (You can swim),” she adds, saying that she already put this to the test.
Plus beauty points for this cosmetics brand—their products are vegan, preservative-safe, tested by dermatologists, cruelty-free, and paraben-free. And as to why she named it Lucky Beauty? “Makeup is a wearable lucky charm,” says Andrea who believes in horoscopes, charms, ang Angel numbers. So why not makeup products that bring the wearer luck as well?
