P510,000 worth of shabu seized from two drug pushers nabbed in Bacolod buy-bust

BACOLOD CITY - Police operatives arrested two drug personalities who yielded 75 grams of shabu worth P510,000 during a buy-bust operation in the suspects’ rented house in Barangay Mandalagan here on Tuesday, Feb. 21.

The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) identified the subject as Rowena Ponce, 44, while her companion was Alter Hernaez, 32, both residents of Barangay Mandalagan.

Capt. Joven Mogato, CDEU head, said they had subjected Ponce for monitoring since November 2022, after some drug suspects, who were previously arrested, mentioned her name.

However, their operation against her got delayed because she transferred to another rented house here.

Mogato said Ponce allegedly distributed illegal drugs in Hinigaran town, La Carlota City, and other neighboring areas here.

Mogato said that Ponce just recently hired Hernaez as her helper, who is tasked to allegedly re-pack the illegal drugs.

He said that Hernaez had previously served his sentence in jail for a murder case.

He said that Ponce, a high value individual, will be charged for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs, while Hernaez will be facing charges for conspiracy and illegal possession of dangerous drugs.
