Back in January, Korean media reported that Jimin was preparing to release his solo album.

Jimin was the featured artist in Big Bang member Taeyang’s single “Vibe” that was released on Jan. 13.

Jimin is the latest member of BTS to have a solo debut following J-Hope, Jin and RM.

On June 14 last year, BTS announced in a video uploaded on YouTube that they were going to pursue solo projects.

“To be clear, they are not on hiatus but will take time to explore some solo projects at this time and remain active in various different formats,” HYBE said in a statement to Manila Bulletin the following day.

On Oct. 15 last year, BTS held their “Yet To Come” concert in Busan, South Korea to promote the city’s bid for the World Expo 2030.

After the concert, Big Hit Music announced on Oct. 17 that all BTS members would be fulfilling their military service.

“Big Hit Music is proud to announce today that the members of BTS are currently moving forward with plans to fulfill their military service,” it said.

It added, “Group member Jin will initiate the process as soon as his schedule for his solo release is concluded at the end of October. He will then follow the enlistment procedure of the Korean government.” Jin enlisted in the military on Dec. 13.

Bit Hit Music said BTS members will be performing as a complete group in 2025.

“Other members of the group plan to carry out their military service based on their own individual plans. Both the company and the members of BTS are looking forward to reconvening as a group again around 2025 following their service commitment,” it said.
