Police arrested two men for illegal possession of firearms and a robbery suspect in separate operations in Bulacan on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan police director said that operatives of Meycauayan City Police implemented a search warrant in Brgy. Tugatog, which resulted in the arrest of Rolando Montes, 53, a goldsmith. The warrant was issued by the Municipal Trial Court (MTC) Branch 1.
During the search, police recovered a .38-caliber revolver with six live bullets, two more bullets, a black holster, and a green sling bag.
Bocaue police also carried out a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 81, Malolos City, which led to the apprehension of Ranilo Espe alias "Bosyo", 43, of Barangay Lolomboy, Bocaue.
Seized from him was a .38-caliber revolver loaded with five live bullets.
Meanwhile, a police team from the City of San Jose Del Monte responded to a robbery incident in Brgy. Muzon and arrested the suspect identified as John Marwell Bernal.
At knife point, the suspect reportedly robbed a victim of personal items worth P78,700.
The said items were recovered and returned to the victim. However, the weapon used and the victim's wallet with cash were not found.
Police learned that Bernal and his group were involved in previous robbery incidents in the area.
