Ten people were arrested by police in a series of anti-illegal gambling operations in Bulacan on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
During a joint operation conducted by the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company and San Miguel police, five persons were arrested while participating in the "Drop Ball" and "Color Game" in a “peryahan” or funfair in Barangay Pinambaran, San Miguel, Bulacan.
Recovered from the suspects were sets of drop ball boards, three rubber balls, two wooden boxes, a set of colored game dice, paraphernalia, and bet money.
Also, the police forces of Angat, Bulakan, and Malolos City likewise carried out a series of anti-illegal gambling operations, resulting in the arrest of two individuals involved in small-town lottery bookies (STL Bookies) and three others who were caught playing "tong-its", a card game.
Concerned citizens thanked the Bulacan Police for responding to the reported illegal gambling operations in the province.
Bulakenyos have expressed hope that the funfairs in the towns of Pandi and Bustos, which are reportedly "untouchable", will be the next target of the police anti-gambling operations.
