Police arrest 2 most wanted persons in Taguig, Pateros

The police arrested the Nos. 1 and 2 most wanted persons in Pateros and Taguig on Feb. 20.

The Taguig police’s Warrant and Subpoena Unit personnel, together with members of the Southern Police District Intelligence Section, arrested John Mark Villafuerte, 20, along Abacan Expressway in Barangay Pandan, Angeles City in Pampanga.

Villafuerte is listed as the No. 2 most wanted person of the Taguig police for February. He was nabbed based on a non-bailable warrant of arrest for murder and frustrated murder with a recommended bail of P200,000 issued by Judge Bernard Bernal of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 70 on Dec. 19 last year.

He is detained at the Taguig police’s custodial facility pending the issuance of a commitment order from the court.

In Pateros, the police’s warrant and subpoena unit and intelligence personnel arrested Syrus Babasa, 22, in Delta Village, Barangay Tandang Sora in Quezon City.

Babasa is listed as the No. 1 most wanted person of the Pateros police in February 2023. He had a pending non-bailable warrant of arrest for rape issued by Presiding Judge Joy Casihan-Dumlao of the Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 262.
