P105-M marijuana burned in Kalinga

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Police destroyed marijuana valued at P105 million in two barangays in Tinglayan, Kalinga over the weekend.

Two large plantations were discovered on Saturday, Feb. 18, in Barangay Tulgao West and 500,000 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P100 million were uprooted.

Police found 14,000 FGMJP worth P2.8 million in the second plantation. A total of 514,000 FGMJP valued at P102.8 million planted in 6,800-square meters of land were destroyed.

The next day, four plantations were discovered in Barangay Buscalan. A total of 11,900 FGMJP in a 1,700-square meter communal forest land valued at P2,380,000 were uprooted.

All marijuana was burned on site and no cultivators were apprehended.
