Laborer arrested for raping daughter in Quirino

CAMP Marcelo A. Adduru, Tuguegarao City – Police arrested a 48-year-old laborer for allegedly raping his daughter since she was 13 in Aglipay, Quirino on Monday, Feb. 20.

The suspect was regarded as the Top 1 Most Wanted Person in Cagayan Valley or Region 2 under the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD).

The victim told police that her father started sexually abusing her in 2019 when she was 13. Her fear of her father prevented her from reporting her plight but she mustered enough courage and reported her situation to her teacher when she was 16 on Oct. 25, 2022.

Suspect was arrested on a warrant issued by the Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Second Judicial Region, Branch 32, Cabarroguis, Quirino on Jan. 18, 2023.

He faces nine counts of rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.

Suspect is detained at the Aglipay police headquarters.
