The Parañaque City government recognized the achievement of World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental light flyweight (108 lbs) champion Arvin Magramo on Monday, Feb. 20.
Mayor Eric Olivarez said Magramo, a resident of Barangay San Antonio, combined brute strength and great speed in scoring a third-round technical knockout win over Indonesian Mario “Stinky” Bunda in their fight on Feb. 4 at the Elorde Grand Ballroom.
The duel was scheduled for 10 rounds but the Filipino fighter finished off the Indonesian in just three rounds.
The mayor was very proud of Magramo’s achievement as it gave pride to the city.
Olivarez was joined by his wife, Aileen Olivarez; City Administrator Voltaire dela Cruz, and Youth and Sports Development Office officer-in-charge Alexander Dandan during the simple ceremony.
