SUBIC BAY FREEPORT ZONE – Authorities seized more than two kilos of high-grade marijuana or Kush from Canada valued at P3.7 million in a controlled delivery operation here on Monday, Feb. 20.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency received information from its foreign counterpart that a shipment of Kush is arriving here. The package arrived at the Port of Clark on Sunday, Feb. 19.
The package was declared as window curtains and underwent X-ray and K9 inspection that led to the discovery of the illegal drug.
"The anticipated subject package containing Kush was declared as window curtain and underwent X-ray and K-9 inspection which indicated the presence of dangerous drugs,” PDEA said.
PDEA added a physical examination led to the discovery of five pouches containing approximately 2,336 grams of dried leaves and fruiting tops with an estimated street value of P3,737,600.
A controlled delivery operation was conducted that resulted into the arrest of the consignee – Federico Cesar Flores Luna, alias ‘’Nestor Bustamante,’’ 32.
Luna will be charged for violation of Section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
