Honest cabbie in Cebu City feted for returning P260,000

CEBU CITY – The Land Transportation Office-Central Visayas (LTFRB-7) on Monday, Feb. 20, commended a taxi driver for returning close to P300,000 left in his vehicle last month.

Antonio Tundag Jr., driver of Sun Taxi, was cited “for exemplary deed and professionalism.”

The wallet he returned was left by a passenger on Jan. 19 and contained P260,000 cash. He turned this over to the LTFRB-7.

Engr. Eduardo Montealto, director of LTFRB-7, led the awarding of certificate of commendation to Tundag.

A certificate of appreciation was also awarded to Michael Lee, owner of Sun Taxi.

Lee was cited for “for the continuous support to the agency as to keeping the trust of the riding public by hiring meritorious drivers.”
