DOH records 895 new Covid-19 cases the past week


The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday, Feb. 20 a total of 895 new Covid-19 cases were recorded during the past week.

In its weekly case bulletin, DOH said that the daily average cases are currently at 128 which is 19 percent lower than the cases on Feb. 6 to Feb. 12.

DOH recorded three new cases tagged under severe and critical cases. Currently, there are 406 severe and critical admissions which is 9.9 percent of total Covid-19 admissions.

On the other hand, 311 out of 2,086 or 14.9 percent of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds are being used, while 3,202 out of 17,045 or 18.8 percent of non-ICU beds are being utilized.

Meanwhile, DOH also verified 74 more deaths due to Covid-19 during the past week. It mentioned that four deaths occurred on Feb. 16 to Feb. 19.

Of the 74 deaths, five occurred in February 2023, three in January 2023, one in December 2022, two in November 2022, one in October 2022, one in July 2022, four in February 2022, five in January 2022, two in December 2021, 12 in October 2021, eight in September 2021, 9 in August 2021, two in July 2021, four in June 2021, two in May 2021, four in April 2021, eight in March 2021, and one in July 2020.

In terms of Covid-19 vaccination, a total of 73,873,958 individuals have been fully vaccinated while 21,500,083 have received boosters or additional doses.
