Andrew E headlines Tingog Party-list concert in Tagum

Philippine rap legend Andrew E--who made waves during last year's elections as then-vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte's campaign front man--headlined Tingog Party-list's recent thanksgiving concert in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.

Held at the City Hall Square in Tagum City last Feb. 17, the concert was the second leg of the “Tingog ng Pasasalamat”, which drew a crowd of thousands.

The first leg was held just a few days earlier, on Feb. 12, in Cebu City.

By virtue of the number of votes it received in the 2022 national elections, Tingog Party-list is occupying two seats in the House of Representatives. Representing Tingog in the chamber are Reps. Yedda Marie Romualdez, the House Committee on Accounts chairperson; and Jude Acidre, a deputy majority leader.

Rep. Romualdez is the wife of House Speaker and Leyte 1st district Rep. Martin Romualdez, who served as one of then-Davao City mayor Duterte’s two campaign managers.

Also entertaining the Tagum crowd aside from Andrew E were “Queen Mother” Karla Estrada, as well as the Plethora and ILT (I Love Tacloban) bands.

As a bonus, the audience was treated to a special performance of musician-singer and “Voice of the Philippines” coach Bamboo, who appeared as a guest artist.

Two more free thanksgiving concerts are scheduled to be held by Tingog Party-list in separate locations: one on Feb. 25 at the Amoranto Sports Complex in Diliman, Quezon City; and another on March 4 at RTR Plaza in Tacloban City, Leyte.
