1,500 ARBs in Western Visayas receive land titles


ILOILO CITY – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) on Friday, Feb. 17, distributed land titles to a total of 1,500 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) across Western Visayas.

Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella II led the distribution of 2,358 Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs) and electronic land titles (e-titles) in Passi City, Iloilo province.

“We will provide you with more lands and necessary support services to help you improve your economic lives,” Estrella told the ARBs.

The DAR said 742 ARBs in Negros Occidental received 1,348 titles. Three-hundred thirty-four ARBs received 465 titles in Capiz; 440 titles to 320 ARBs in Iloilo; 86 titles to 83 ARBs in Antique, and 18 titles to 22 ARBs in Guimaras.

The distribution of titles was part of the DAR’s Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) project which President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. wants to expedite.

Estrella, assisted by DAR Undersecretary Jesry Palmares and DAR Regional Director Sheila Enciso, also turned over farm-to-market roads as well as farm machines and equipment totaling P114.5 million for ARB organizations in Iloilo.
