Woman found dead in Bacolod rented house

BACOLOD CITY - A woman’s live-in partner was arrested by the police following the discovery of her lifeless body at their rented house in Purok Makawiwili, Barangay Banago here on Saturday, Feb. 18.

The victim was identified as Roselyn Destua, 33, of Barangay Zone 16, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

Major Armilyn Vargas, head of Police Station 3, said the victim and her live-in partner figured in an argument on Friday morning, Feb. 17, based on the statement of the witnesses.

A few hours later, the victim’s partner, 30-year-old Josan Destua, was sighted leaving their house on a board a motorcycle.

The following day, the victim wrapped in a blanket was found inside the house, when police responded to a report.

Policemen arrested Josan when they received information that he was sighted in the area.

Vargas said that based on the witnesses, the couple would frequently argue, but the suspect denied the allegations.

The victim will be subjected to autopsy to determine the cause of her death, according to Vargas.
