The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the rehabilitation of the Cordon-Aurora Boundary Road, Isabela–Junction Dumabato section of Barangay Gamis in Saguday, Quirino, which it said, is now providing a safer travel for the motorists.
In a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, DPWH Region 2 Director Reynaldo C. Alconcel said that the work involves the rehabilitation of the 1.43 kilometer damaged road section and concreting of the three-meter shoulder on both sides of the carriageway.
He noted that the improvement of the off-carriageway is now providing functional space and safer access for cyclists and pedestrians.
“Also included in the scope of works is the construction of slope protection structures in the form of concrete retaining wall, while the existing line canal is also extended to hold more volumes of water,’’ the DPWH said in a statement.
Alconcel pointed out that the provision of thermoplastic road markings is also programmed to help travelers during the night.
