Death of gov's 4 bodyguards 'heartbreaking'--Cong Adiong

That's the collective name that Lanao del Sur 1st district Rep. Zia Adiong gave to the four fallen security details of his older brother, Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal Adiong, who was ambushed by gunmen on Friday afternoon, Feb. 17.

"Our sincere and heartfelt condolences to the families of the brave four who died protecting Gov. Mamintal ‘Bombit’ Alonto Adiong, Jr.:
1.Police Officer Juraiz Adiong
2.Police Officer Aga Sumandar
3.Police Officer Jalil Cosain
4.Hassanor Pundaodaya," Rep. Adiong wrote in a Facebook post Saturday, Feb. 18.

Although his brother survived the attempt on his life, this didn't stop the congressman from feeling crushed over the deaths of the bodyguards.

"We are heartbroken over the deaths of his security details, all of whom are family members and relatives who were in convoy with my brother during the violent attack. We offer our deepest sympathies to all of our bereaved loved ones," he said.

"May Allah (SWT) pardon your sins and grant you all paradise. Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun (From Him we came and to Him is our return)," added the solon.

He also said Saturday that Governor Adiong was in stable condition.
