Iloilo City power distributor marks 4th anniversary

ILOILO CITY – MORE Electric and Power Corp. (MORE Power) marked its fourth anniversary as the sole power distributor here this week.

“I have seen the dedication of the personnel to provide better service to the Ilonggos, and the massive investments made by them to improve services to our people,” said Mayor Jerry Treñas in a statement.

“We have benefited a lot since MORE Power came in. Electric power has become more reliable. Old and dilapidated poles have been replaced. A new substation in Megaworld area has been constructed. Service has become customer-friendly,” added Treñas.

The law granting a franchise to MORE Power was signed during the Duterte administration in February 2019. MORE Power took over the operations of Panay Electric Co. (PECO).

Since then, MORE Power’s franchise had been extended to other parts of Iloilo province, particularly in the second and fourth districts.

MORE Power President and Chief Executive Officer Roel Castro assured that preparatory works are under way for expansion of services.

The company had a series of activities lined up during the week and one was a blood-letting activity which is part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) project.

MORE Power linemen, security guards, contractors, and employees donated blood to the Philippine Red Cross. Over the past year, MORE Power has donated 194 units of blood.

The power distributor fosters spirit of volunteerism in its continuing blood-letting activity.
