F2 Logistics bounced back after dragging Creamline to a sudden death to come away with a 23-25, 25-18, 16-25, 25-23, 16-14 triumph in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City on Saturday, Feb. 18.
The Cargo Movers, who are coming off a straight-set beating last Feb. 16, handed the Cool Smashers their first loss of the season-opening conference in an extended showdown before the 6,765 roaring crowd.
Myla Pablo delivered the goods for the Cargo Movers with 27 points off 22 attacks and five blocks to help the team improve 3-1 in the standings, while Aby Maraño and Kianna Dy contributed 14 and 11 markers, respectively.
Tied at 10-all in the final set after Pablo’s single block on Michele Gumabao, F2 Logistics would go on to commit a costly attack error, allowing Tots Carlos to score back-to-back points, 11-13.
Both teams exchanged an error each in the following two sequences, putting Creamline at match point.
Still, the Cargo Movers would persist to get the last laugh with a 4-0 run, dealing the Cool Smashers their first loss of the season.
“Well, I’m very proud of the team. It feels like ayaw talaga nila ibigay iyong laban which is how it should be against all teams. why I’m very happy with this win. Hopefully madala namin siya to the next few games ,” said F2 Logistics head coach Regine Diego.
Despite four of Creamline players scoring in double-figures, with Carlos pacing the team with a 21-point outing, the All-Filipino defending champion will suffer a 3-1 record.
