Vice President Sara Duterte has urged the new members of the Lakas - Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) to continue working for the welfare of the people they serve.

Speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of the new members of the Lakas-CMD on Friday, Feb. 17, in Tagum City, Duterte reminded the local leaders to "uphold the highest degree of integrity and accountability in all our public pursuits."
“By accepting to become a member of a political party, we also accept the challenge to work in unity towards a common goal - the welfare of the people we serve,” Duterte said.
“As servant-leaders of our respective communities, we are called to steadfastly adhere to and live by the principles of Lakas-CMD that have fostered dignified and exemplary leadership from our peers in the party,” she added.
The Vice President, in her message, cited the Marcos Administration’s 8-point economic agenda that aims to address the immediate concerns of the country, such as inflation, by protecting the purchasing power of families and consumers.
She said the growing number of Lakas-CMD members from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao is not just a positive indication of its political gains, but also “signifies the larger role in creating impactful changes that will benefit the future of the nation when it comes to governance.”
“May the welfare of our nation remain at the forefront of our collective aspiration within the Lakas-CMD,” Duterte said.
“Let us bear in mind that the good of our nation lies at the core of our noble mission in this movement,” she added.
