CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Police arrested 38 wanted persons in a week-long manhunt operation in the Cordillera from Feb. 5 to 11.
The Police Regional Office-Cordillera Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD) said the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) arrested 18 wanted persons, followed by the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) and Ifugao PPO with six each, Kalinga PPO with four, and Mountain Province and Abra PPO, two apiece.
Brig. Gen. Mafelino Bazar, PRO-Cordillera director, said as a result of the intensified police visibility and campaign against crime, 64 municipalities in the region and four police stations in Baguio City recorded zero crime incidents from Feb. 5 to 11.
No crimes were recorded in 25 municipalities in Abra, 10 each in Benguet and Ifugao, nine municipalities in Mountain Province, and five in Apayao and Kalinga.
Out of the 10 BCPO stations, Station 1 (Naguilian), Station 6 (Aurora Hill), Station 8 (Kennon Road), and Station 9 (Irisan) registered zero crime incidents.
