Blacklist forges partnership with G2 Esports, enters Wild Rift scene

The Army and the Agents are out to break codes inside the Rift.

Filipino esports giant Blacklist International has forged a partnership with Berlin-based esports organization G2 Esports as it ventures to League of Legends: Wild Rift.

The Wild Rift team, which will carry the name G2 Blacklist, is composed of Beaver-Ed “Orthros” Villanueva, Karl Ken “Karlll” Bautista, Jairus Allain “Jace” Elgera, Jhon Mike “Xyliath” Tungol, Richard “Demon” Lara, and Allen Dean “Don” Viola, with head coach Hans “WUrahhhh” Solano and assistant coach Keiya “XDXP” Laureta.

The team is set for a debut on Friday, Feb. 17, in the second phase of the PH qualifier of the Wild Rift League Asia, facing up against The 300 which is composed of the remnants of the RRQ Philippines Wild Rift team which placed 5th - 8th in the Icons Global Championship last year.

“G2 Blacklist is a '1 + 2 = 4' type of partnership. Two of the most popular and competitive teams in their respective regions working together is something truly special. I think this is a game-changer not just for Wild Rift esports, but for the industry as a whole,” said Tier One Entertainment CEO and co-founder Tryke Gutierrez.

“Alongside G2, we’re looking forward to bringing the Blacklist International brand to new audiences around the world,” he added.

"We’re combining the best of the East and the West to take a new Esports competition by storm. As two major winning organizations, the G2 and Blacklist partnership is one that was created with big ambitions,” added G2 Esports CEO Alban Dechelotte

“Blacklist is a winning team, full of successful people that have helped them dominate the mobile esports market. Asia is where Wild Rift is set to succeed and we wanted to be part of it and bring a G2 team to our fans in the region,” he furthered.

With the formation of G2 Blacklist, LoL: Wild Rift is now the second esports title Blacklist has expanded to after also building its own DOTA 2 team, Blacklist Rivalry.

The Filipino esports organization has produced world champion teams with its flagship team Blacklist International team in Mobile Legends:Bang Bang and Blacklist Ultimate in the Call of Duty: Mobile.
