Philips has been working on interesting TVs. We’ve featured a couple back then, all of them were impressive. It makes plenty of sense that Philips would take on gaming, seeing how they put out great displays.
The Momentum is one of the product names that Philips holds in high regard. With features to enrich the viewing experience, the Momentum 3000 sports a 165Hz refresh rate and a wide color support. For gaming, the Momentum 3000 felt snappy and delivered a fine performance. We’ve tested multiple games, including some of the most popular FPS like Valorant.
Now, we’re not the hardest hardcore gamers out there. But playing Doom, Wolfenstein, Apex, and GTA V, all the visuals, colors, textures, and details, have all been pretty impressive.
The entire build of the Momenum 3000 feels sturdy. The bezels are thin, allowing more screen space. There isn't any RGB lighting, which is more than fine on my book, because there are times when I prefer to focus on the content within the display, rather than be distracted by the bright neon lights glowing outside the screen. But that’s just a personal preference.
For professional video editing jobs, the Philips Momentum 3000 is not perfect. It can get the job done but this display is totally focused for gaming and most likely binge-watching movies and shows.
The Momentum 3000 is best for 1080p gaming. And personally, that’s all fine in my book as well. Not everyone can enjoy 4K 120fps at ultra settings, if you’re one of those, neat. But for plenty others who just wants a good gaming monitor without breaking bank, the Philips Momentum 3000 is the answer.
