A cash assistance worth P22,895,000 was distributed by the Philippine Red Cross to 4,579 families affected by Super Typhoon Karing that hit Luzon in September 2022.

This is in addition to the P8,383,705 worth of aid already distributed by the PRC since the onslaught of the super typhoon.
The cash distribution, held Wednesday, Feb. 15, benefited 1,123 families in the municipalities of Burdeos, Panukulan, and Patnanungan in Quezon Province, 1,184 families in Gapan City, General Tinio, Penaranda, and San Leonardo in Nueva Ecija, 476 in San Miguel, Bulacan, 996 in Dingalan and San Luis in Aurora, and 800 in Pura and Victoria in Tarlac.
This initiative is a part of PRC's one-time Multipurpose Cash Grant of P5,000 to support the victims' recovery, particularly the rice farmers since it is nearing planting season.
PRC noted that the activity was supported by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies as part of its Karding Operation.
Aside from cash, PRC said that it has also provided hot meals, psychological first aid, hygiene promotion activities, child-friendly spaces, face masks, jerry cans, shelter tool kits, and sleeping kits to Karding victims.
