Bulacan cops nab 18 drug peddlers, 10 illegal gamblers, 6 wanted persons in anti-crime ops

Eighteen suspected drug peddlers, 10 illegal gamblers, and six wanted persons were arrested by Bulacan police in a series of anti-crime operations on Tuesday, Feb. 14, and Wednesday, Feb. 15.

Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan police director, said the 18 drug personalities were arrested in buy-bust operations conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Pulilan, San Miguel, Pandi, City of San Jose del Monte (CSJDM), Hagonoy, Marilao, and City of Meycauayan on Feb. 15.

Police said one of the arrested suspects is Pastor Lumontad alias Bikoy of Sapang Palay Proper, CSJDM, also tagged in a series of robbery-holdups in the towns of CSJDM, Marilao, and Sta. Maria. Two grenades were recovered from him.

The other arrested drug suspects were identified as Romeo Banto of Taal, Pulilan; Roel Gamao of Tibag, Pulilan; Jerome Tolentino of Buliran, San Miguel; Renzky Manapol; Richard Vergara; and Ramil Francisco, all of Mapulang Lupa, Pandi; Marco Candelario and Marialyn Reyes, both of Sapang Palay Proper, CSJDM; Jayson de Leon of Mercado, Hagonoy; Condrado Santos of San Pascual, Hagonoy; Joey Cailao of Bancal Extension, Meycauayan; Joe Bryan Santos of Lambakin, Marilao; Lormito Culianan of Ubihan, Meycauayan; Tess Beltran of Saog, Marilao; Vincent Caluza, Rhoda May Cortez and David Macapagal, all of Novaliches, Quezon City.

Seized during the operations were 49 sachets of suspected shabu, nine sachets of marijuana, and buy-bust money.

Meanwhile, on Valentine's Day, 10 illegal gamblers were arrested in separate anti-illegal gambling operations conducted by operatives of Malolos City Police and Bulacan 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Baliwag City Police.

Nine were caught in the act of playing card game "pusoy," while one was nabbed for collecting bets while posing as a Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) agent.

Confiscated from the suspects were a set of playing cards, “papelitos”, and bet money in different denominations.

Also on the same day, six persons wanted by law were arrested in manhunt operations launched by the tracker teams of Bocaue, Norzagaray, Malolos, CSJDM, and Sta. Maria Police Stations.

They were arrested for crimes of robbery, estafa, and violation of Republic Act 9003 (Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000) and R.A. 7610 Section 10(A) (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.).
