PCG brings ‘kilig’ to commuters on Valentine’s Day


Commuters in the National Capital Region (NCR) received a heart-filling treat on Tuesday, Feb. 14, as Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) personnel distributed 1,500 roses to mark the celebration of the Valentine’s Day.

The PCG deployed 80 personnel to Light Rail Transit (LRT)-2 Antipolo Station, Metro Rail Transit (MRT)-3 Shaw Boulevard Station, Philippine National Railways (PNR) Tutuban Station, and Philippine Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) Entrance 2 to hand out roses to the commuters.

The PCG Combo also serenaded the travelers with love songs to complete the “kilig” vibe on the special occasion. The activity started from 10 a.m. and lasted until 12 noon.

Further, the PCG also deployed two buses that offered free rides to male and female passengers from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The PCG buses travelled from PITX in Paranaque City to Monumento in Caloocan City.

The initiative was spearheaded by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) Railways Sector in partnership with the PCG and PITX management.
