Mechanic crushed to death by runaway jeepney in Makati

A mechanic died while his mother and a neighbor were hurt after being run over by a public utility jeepney he was fixing in Barangay San Isidro, Makati City.

The authorities identified the victim as Dennis Magaso.

In an interview with GMA, Magaso's sister said that her brother may have failed to remove the battery of the vehicle while he was working under it, causing the jeepney to move forward crushing the victim and hitting his mother who was selling goods near the jeepney and one of their neighbors.

Magaso and the other victims were rushed to the hospital. However, Magaso died due to the serious injuries he sustained.

"Simula dito sa lungs medyo talagang lumambot. Lahat nagdurugo kaya hindi nakayanan ng kuya ko. Doon siya nag-give up (His lungs became soft and he was bleeding profusely)," Magaso's sister said.

Magaso's family are asking for financial help for the victims' hospital bills.
