From an art fair to a bazaar, love is in the air and on the LRT-1 and at its stations

February is often celebrated as a month of love, with Valentine’s Day bringing an opportunity for people to make the day extra special for the special people in their lives each year.
LRT-1 private operator Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) observes the season of love through week-long activities at its stations to bring fun to the hearts of passengers and create an atmosphere of romance. This year’s theme celebrates all-inclusive love, highlighting all types of love, whether for family, friends, communities, pets, and of course, self.

The week-long activities will kicked off on Monday, Feb. 13, with the unveiling of heART installation adorned with red and pink flowers where couples, friends, families, and even solo passenger can take their photos and post them on their social media accounts. The installation features a “Straight from the Heart” corner where passengers can confess their admiration to their special someone or simply express their feelings by writing a message on the dedicated wall.
There is also an art display titled “LOVE through the eyes of children” featuring artworks made by Grades 1 to 6 students of Marcela Marcelo Elementary School (MMES) in Malibay, Pasay City. LRMC has been supporting MMES since 2020 as part of its strong advocacy for education by helping non-readers and struggling readers through Binhi English Literacy Foundation, a non-profit and non-governmental organization.

The heART installation, artworks display, and passenger engagement activity are ongoing at the LRT-1 Central Station until Feb. 28. National Arts Month also happens to be celebrated annually throughout February in the Philippines as a special time for Filipinos to appreciate art, reflect on its significance, and pay tribute to artists.
On Valentine's Day, passengers don’t need to look any further to buy gifts for their special someone as there will be a Gifts of Love Bazaar at LRT-1 Central Station, ground floor parking area, where LRMC employees are selling gift and food items that passengers can buy at affordable prices.

National Arts Month also happens to be celebrated annually throughout February in the Philippines as a special time for Filipinos to appreciate art, reflect on its significance, and pay tribute to artists.
The PopBox smart locker system has also gone live at LRT-1. Powered by Airspeed, PopBox smart lockers are located at 19 LRT-1 stations. Each offers contactless delivery service for the benefit of commuters who wish to use these stations as their pick-up point for packages. facebook.com/officialLRT1, Twitter @officialLRT1 | ikotMNL mobile app.
