FWD names De Rosas as next PH unit CEO

FWD Group Holdings announced the appointment of Antonio “Jumbing” De Rosas as president and chief executive officer of its Philippine unit.

De Rosas will lead FWD Life Insurance Corp. (FWD Philippines) effective March 1, 2023, subject to relevant approvals, the Hong Kong-based parent firm said on Tuesday, Feb. 14.

Binayak Dutta, managing director for emerging markets, and group chief distribution officer, said the FWD Group is pleased to attract an industry veteran of the calibre of De Rosas to be its next CEO for the Philippines.

“Jumbing’s guidance has been invaluable since joining the FWD Philippines’s Board of Directors last year. We’re looking forward to leveraging even more of his deep experience in changing the way Filipinos feel about insurance,” Dutta said.

De Rosas brings with him over 35 years of experience in insurance, banking, and public accounting, including serving as president and CEO, and chief financial officer, at Pru Life UK Philippines for over 14 years.

He succeeds Zhuang Li Hao, who will be taking on a new role as group chief of distribution strategy in the FWD Group headquarters.

Hao and De Rosas both report to Dutta.
