The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday, Feb. 13 that the trough or extension of a low pressure area (LPA) and northeast monsoon will continue to affect parts of the country within 24 hours.

The LPA east of Mindanao still has a low chance of becoming a tropical cyclone, but its trough may cause cloudy weather with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, and Bohol.

PAGASA warned against possible flash floods or landslides due to light to occasional heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Palawan and the rest of Visayas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

The public is also advised to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

PAGASA said the rest of Luzon will continue to experience cold weather due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan.”

The amihan may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains.
