Farmer gunned down in Quezon

SARIAYA, Quezon – A 42-year-old farmer was gunned down by his 50-year-old neighbor during a heated confrontation on Sunday night, Feb. 12, in Sitio Looban, Barangay Lutucan Malabag, here.

Police identified the victim as Jerome Dumdumaya.

Investigation said the victim went to the house of the suspect, Manolito An, alias ‘’Manoy,’’ a vegetable vendor, to confront him over an argument he had with his wife, triggering an argument.

At the height of the argument, An drew a gun and fired at Dumdumaya several times.

An escaped with the murder weapon onboard a motorcycle towards the direction of Barangays Montecillo and Manggalang 1 here while the victim was taken to the Quezon Medical Center in Lucena City where he was declared dead before dawn on Monday, Feb. 13.

Probers recovered from the crime scene four fired cartridge cases of caliber 9mm. Police are pursuing the suspect.
