Cops net P17-M shabu in Central Visayas

CEBU CITY – Suspected shabu worth over P17 million was seized in a two-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) in Central Visayas.

The Police Regional Office-7 said 2,530.30 grams of shabu and 167 individuals were arrested in 167 anti-illegal drug operations from Feb. 11 to 12.

Police also apprehended 268 persons for illegal gambling and 24 most wanted persons and 174 other wanted persons. Lawmen confiscated 187 assorted loose firearms and four explosives.

Brig. Gen. Jerry Bearis, PRO-7 chief, lauded police units in the region for another successful SACLEO.

Bearis said the PRO-7 has adopted an Israeli-inspired strategy which uses technology to help ensure successful crime prevention and law enforcement.

"The long-term and well-prepared operation highlighted the police’s efforts in maintaining law and order and building a drug-free Central Visayas community,” Bearis said.
