8 injured after car plunges off ravine in Negros

BACOLOD CITY – Eight persons were injured after their Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) plunged off a ravine in Barangay Pandanon, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental on Monday, Feb. 13.

Major Eugene Tolentino, Don Salvador Benedicto police chief, said the vehicle overshot while descending the curve part of the road and fell off the cliff in the opposite lane.

The victims were on their way to Bacolod City after an outing. All onboard sustained injuries and were referred to a hospital here.

Tolentino said the driver might have miscalculated due to unfamiliarity with the road.
