BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development revealed recently that 51,113 new households are set to be included as beneficiaries of the government’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps in Northeastern Mindanao or the Caraga region this year.
They are addition or replacement to the over 170,000 household beneficiaries in the region leaving the program in 2023.
DSWD-Caraga Information Office chief Marko Davey Reyes said that as of Nov. 30, 2022, there were 179,937 active household beneficiaries in the region, of which 170,500 families are beneficiaries of the Regular Conditional Cash Transfer (RCCT) and 9,437 of the Modified Conditional Cash Transfer (MCCT).
The DSWD said the registration of these 51,113 households started this month and will end in March.
“Names of potential household beneficiaries are posted in their respective barangays,” Reyes said.
Crislea D. Celeste, DSWD Caraga 4Ps division chief, said that these additional and replacement households will benefit from the program like the thousands of families who have exited and graduated from the program in the previous years.
The 4Ps implemented by the DSWD is a human development measure of the national government that provides conditional cash grants to the poorest of the poor to improve the health, nutrition, and education of children aged zero to 18.
