Homegrown company Pickup Coffee recently launched Anne Curtis as its first-ever ambassador. Held at Txoko Asador restaurant in Makati City last Jan. 31, Pickup Coffee kicked off 2023 with a thanksgiving luncheon to announce the “It’s Showtime” host joining its family.

“Coffee makes us feel good. It makes us feel great. And that is the feeling that led us to Anne Curtis,” mused Bien Lee, Pickup Coffee co-founder, during the launch event. “She makes thousands of Filipinos feel good, from her movies and hosting, to the products she produces. As a mother, she serves as an inspiration. Anne Curtis makes us feel good and she continues to do so this year with Pickup Coffee.”

Through Anne’s craft, it’s easy to see why Pickup Coffee tapped her as its first-ever ambassador. With years of experience in the entertainment industry from being a child star to now an award-winning actress and producer, to being an esteemed host, singer, and an inspiring mother, Anne truly embodies the brand day in, day out.

“I think this is such an amazing way to start the year. It definitely picked up my year so thank you for making me part of the Pickup Coffee family,” expressed Anne. “It’s a young startup company and I learned that the beans are locally sourced, even across the region in Southeast Asia. I looked at the menu and everything there I love so it was an easy yes for me to be a brand ambassador because it’s something that’s engaged in my life, and it’s something I enjoyed.”

What’s the secret sauce to Pickup Coffee’s exponential growth in the past year? From opening their first coffee concept at Uptown Fort Bonifacio to today with 50 cloud stores, delivery hubs, and physical branches combined, the homegrown company is definitely making coffee accessible to Filipinos.

“There is no secret sauce, as such. There are many things that get together,” explained Jaime Gonzalez, co-founder and head of strategy. ”I think it is making coffee affordable, which has two components. The first is price, so we actually price the coffee at the right point. The second one is making it accessible. We try to bring Pickup Coffee to as many locations as fast as possible. So it doesn’t matter where you are in Metro Manila, at any given point you can have it in 10 to 15 minutes. It makes it very easy for people to simply pick up one.”

With a wide array of coffee flavors, Anne handpicked one that can surely brighten anyone’s day. “The great thing about Pickup Coffee, like depending on the season they’ll have something to cheer you up whether it be Valentine’s, Halloween, is that there’s something new on the menu,” Anne continued. “The one that stayed for me is the Iced Caramel because anything sweet, I’d say, gives you some happiness and to boost you up. You have that espresso in there so for me that’s really the perfect mix.”

With Filipinos' love for coffee and Pickup Coffee’s affordable price points and accessible hubs, it’s no wonder the brand has expanded in both Manila and Cebu, with 50 operating branches to date.
