A fruit-floral shop on Esguerra Street in South Triangle, Quezon City started selling "edible bouquets" on Saturday, Feb. 11, for Valentine's Day celebration.
"It's a good choice as it’s very practical - you get to eat it as cocktail, dessert, table centerpiece; the containers are reusable ceramics; packaging is good grade and recyclable," said Leah Dy, the owner of Fruits In Bloom (FIB).
She said FIB has been making "fruit edible arrangements" since 2013.
Dy also said the store arranges at least 30 bouquets with 10 kilos of fruits on a normal day and over 500 arrangements with 50 kilos of fruits a day in peak seasons.
The prices of the bouquets range from P1,350 to P2,350 for small sizes, P3,350 to P4,500 for medium sizes, and P5,580 to P7,000 for large sizes.
The business owner added that each arrangement takes an hour to finish and that most of the fruits they use are imported.
"We try to support the local farmers as much as possible, unfortunately we import most fruits too," she said.
The store is open every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
