Pasig LGU to offer short-term employment for displaced workers, unemployed residents


The Pasig City local government will open on Monday, Feb. 13, the application for the Katuwang sa Agarang Hanapbuhay Program (KAAGAPAY), an alternative employment initiative led by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO).

Described as a “community-based package assistance,” the KAAGAPAY program offers short-term employment and skills training to displaced workers and unemployed persons.

These temporary jobs and skills training include street sweeping and urban gardening, respectively.

The application period will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The schedule and location of the application site per barangay are as follows:

District 2

  • Feb. 13 - Santolan (Ilaya Covered Court), Rosario (Ilalim ng Tulay ), and Dela Paz (Function Hall)
  • Feb. 14 - San Miguel (Barangay Hall, third floor), Maybunga (covered court next to Parish Church), and Sta. Lucia (Barangay Hall, third floor)
  • Feb. 15 - Pinagbuhatan (Damayan Covered Court), and Manggahan (Multipurpose Hall next to Barangay Hall)

District 1

  • Feb.20 - Sto. Tomas (Multipurpose Hall), Sta. Cruz (covered court), and San Nicolas (covered court)
  • Feb. 21 - Pineda (covered court), Oranbo (barangay hall), Kapitolyo (ampitheatre), and San Antonio (covered court)
  • Feb. 22 - Caniogan (Kalinangan Covered Court), Kapasigan (covered court), Ugong (Multipurpose Hall, ground floor), and Bagong Ilog (front of Barangay Hall)
  • Feb. 23 - Sta. Rosa (covered court), Sumilang (Romulo building, Barangay Hall), San Jose (Mini Plaza behind Barangay Hall), Bagong Katipunan (Multipurpose Hall), and Buting (covered court)
  • Feb. 27 - Palatiw (Bilog Covered Court), Sagad (covered court), and Malinao (covered court)
  • Feb. 28 - Bambang (covered court), Kalawaan (covered court), and San Joaquin (covered court next to Barangay Hall

The applicants who will pass the profiling process will be contacted by members of the local PESO.

Successful applicants for the program will be deployed in batches within the whole year.

Qualifications

Only verified residents of Pasig who are 18 to 75 years old are eligible to apply for the program.

Interested applicants are required to bring a photocopy of their valid ID, a certificate of residency from the barangay, a 2 x 2 picture, and their application, which can be picked up at the site on their scheduled date.

At the processing site, PESO personnel will check the requirements, ensuring they are complete and all forms are properly filled in.

PESO strictly allows only the actual applicant, not representatives, to be the one to submit their requirements.
